The Hills Are Alive with the Sound Of Music

Found a new canyon and mountain to explore I'd never had much of a look at. Had me thinking of the old classic movie "The Sound of Music". Spring time brings a lot of really fun wild flowers to the area. The incredible amount of rain we've been having brings some great rolling clouds falling off the mountains.

Abandoned Franklin County Sugar Co. Factory

There's something fun about old buildings.  Maybe something dangerous too! It was still standing when I left so it's all good. Though getting to the 4th floor was a little bit sketchy.

The Franklin County Sugar Co. Factory in southern Idaho has been abandoned for over 50 years. However, the youth seem to like it as a message board these days. Some of the lighter side and nice graffiti I've seen around.

Visit to the City of Rocks

While visiting Castle Rock in Idaho I had a brief glimpse of the nearby City of Rocks. Though I did not have the time then to explore it much. I knew I wanted to go back and do so. With an overnight camping trip I was able to explore some more of it the following day. It's a really fun spot and I feel like there is still more for me to find and capture there. Though it's unlikely I'll be there a month later like this time.

A beautiful day in a beautiful spot.

To give some perspective on scale of the rocks. You'll be able to find a man in the image below.

More shots from Japan will be up next week!

Castle Rock Idaho

About a two hour drive from Cache Valley. You'll find an awesome formation of rocks in southern Idaho named Castle Rock. Unfortunately this was the weekend the weather decided to drop from the 60F temperatures we've been having into to snow weather. Which pushed me down off the rocks in the area as it tends to make the slick rocks a bit dangerous to be on.

Definitely going to go back, for this formation as well as the nearby City of Rocks, once the weather has warmed up again.
