Salina Turda is a mine that was first mention in historical documents back as far as the year 1075. Though the current areas open to visitors were cut in the mid to late 1800s. It's large clay content ended up pushing the majority of mining to another location inside Romania. Though, this clay is also what helps to give certain walls an almost oily shine.

One of the larger shafts, Terezia, seen in the last two pictures. Extends for 112 meters from top to bottom. Where a lake of can be found for those looking to row a boat deep underground.
