Little bit late, but the last bit from Japan. Ah, to go there again would be good. Below is an assortment of photographs from all over Japan. Closing with the setting sun from Miyajima.

Transfăgărășan: Mountain Pass Through the Southern Carpathians

Transfăgărășan is a road that starts near the village of Bascov and climbs to it's highest point of over 6500ft (2000m). Making it the second highest pass in Romania. It's winding roads bring motorcycle, bike, and road way enthusiasts alike. Having also been featured in the British Televsion show Top Gear. It certainly made use of my years of driving.

At that height, it still had a bit of snow for those wishing to hit the slopes a while longer.

Salina Turda Salt Mine - Turda, Romania

Salina Turda is a mine that was first mention in historical documents back as far as the year 1075. Though the current areas open to visitors were cut in the mid to late 1800s. It's large clay content ended up pushing the majority of mining to another location inside Romania. Though, this clay is also what helps to give certain walls an almost oily shine.

One of the larger shafts, Terezia, seen in the last two pictures. Extends for 112 meters from top to bottom. Where a lake of can be found for those looking to row a boat deep underground.

Friends at the Salina Turda Mine

The black walls  reflecting almost an oily shine along this tunnel are unrefined salt deep underground.  Salt deposits as normally viewed can be seen accumulating near bottom. Though it's heavily toured I was fortunate enough to cross these  two solitary friends.

As I haven't had time to sit down and process anything while traveling and I really love this image. I want to give it more notice and will post a follow up to the Salina Turda Mine later in the week.

Peleș Castle and Făgăraș Fortress

Peles Castle is nestled tightly in the mountains and intricate in all of it's design. Housing beautiful art and architecture all around. The scenery too is beautiful.

The Fagaras Fortress was never conquered by any invading army. Though personally I enjoy the inside more than being on the outside.

First days in Romania 2015

Had a small amount of time to walk around Bucharest before the super busy weekend. Time enough for a little bit of "Street Photography". And also having a random fellow coming up and asking for his picture to be taken with his lady friend.
